Trend Micro OfficeScan 10.5

Available in August 2010, Trend Micro OfficeScan 10.5, powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network infrastructure's correlated in-the-cloud intelligence, is now designed to solve the challenges unique to endpoints deployed in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Based on internal testing, using OfficeScan enables enterprises to more than double the number of virtual machines per VDI host - without sacrificing security.

Growth of VDI leads to new security challenges

The temptation for enterprises is to deploy their existing non-virtualisation-aware endpoint security to their virtualised endpoints. Doing so poses significant performance challenges on the shared VDI server hardware, leaving end users negatively impacted.

OfficeScan 10.5 enables customers to maximise the number of virtualised desktops per host, contributing to a higher ROI of a customer's VDI investment without lowering security standards.
