Corel Licensing

Corel's aim in education is to provide licence solutions that are tailored to fit any establishment - regardless of size or budget - delivering the very best in creative and office productivity software at incredible value. Our flexible approach to education licensing reduces administration costs, provides access to a broad range of products and meets the needs of today's students, teachers and ICT managers.

There are three key Corel Licence programmes to choose from:

• Corel Licence for Learning (CLL) - a flexible multi product annual site Licence that is simple to administer and cost-effective. The CLL offers the very latest versions of our products and free upgrades during the licence period.
  
• Corel Transactional Licence (CTL) - a single or multi product volume Licence that is far more cost effective than purchasing individual box products.
  
• Classroom Licence - low cost solution for the classroom or ICT Lab with specific usage and product requirements.

These programmes vary dependent on the type of academic institution, whether Primary or Secondary School, Higher or Further Education College or University.

Corel Licence for Learning (CLL)

This popular and flexible site licence has just got even better! Suitably priced for Primary, Secondary and Higher Education, (both FE/HE colleges and Universities), the key to this annual subscription Licence is the right to install THREE of Corel’s most popular creative products across the whole site, so there's no restriction on usage. The three products within this Licence include; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Painter and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.

In addition, and new to the CLL programme, is the option to add-on up to FIVE additional education products from their new range. Available to purchase at a minimum level of 20 computers, you can choose to add on any of the following; Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite, Ulead VideoStudio, Corel WordPerfect Office, WinZip Pro and WinDVD.

As well as being an efficient renewable annual subscription for the entire site, offering substantial savings over purchasing individual boxes and volume Licences, another big advantage of this programme is that you are automatically eligible for free upgrades and will always have access to the latest versions of our software. This is particularly important for arts, design and technology based courses where industry employers are looking for the most up-to-date skills and it will also ensure the continued compatibility with other 3rd party applications and operating systems.

Corel Transactional Licence (CTL)

If an annual site Licence is not suitable for your establishment and you are looking for a product specific volume Licence plan, then you need look no further than the CTL programme. The CTL is a volume dependent Licence programme (volume relates to the number of computers you want to install software on) and is available to all academic institutions across the range of Corel’s education products, these include; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Corel Painter, Ulead VideoStudio, WinDVD, Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite, Ulead PhotoImpact, Corel WordPerfect Office.

It's the ideal option for you if you are looking to support one or more courses and have specific product or volume needs. For example, you may be using Corel products on just a few computers and now want to support more users across the whole class or department. Alternatively, you may just want to introduce new products like Ulead VideoStudio or WinDVD from Corel’s extended product portfolio. Either way, the CTL programme gives you the flexibility to grow as your needs change.

The CTL is a perpetual Licence programme and gives you the right to use the product version purchased for an unlimited period. As a solution this is far more cost effective than purchasing individual box products and many of Corel’s products can be deployed over the network, so it couldn't be easier to manage! Volume-based price bands are offered so the more copies ordered, the lower the cost per computer. In addition, for guaranteed access to future version releases - ensuring that students are developing skills on current software - you can purchase our annual Upgrade Protection Licence option.

Discount Levels

Academic
The Corel Academic Transactional Licensing Programme (CTL) is an educational volume-based licence programme designed for academic institutions (Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Higher Educational Colleges, Vocational Colleges and Universities). It allows you to licence Corel products on a multi-platform basis, offers the ability to add Student Usage Rights for Higher Education only which allows students to use the products on their home computers. Entry from just 1 unit. Discount Levels for CTL Products:

• Level A: 1-60 (Student Usage Rights are available from 20+ seats only)
• Level B: 61-300
• Level C: 301+
  

Government
Designed for any government sector, agency or department, this programme also applies to public services such as libraries, hospitals, police force etc. Government purchase discount at level J, high flexibility as no minimum purchase requirement, no ongoing purchase commitment, all current Corel products are available through CTL, home and laptop use. Entry level is 1 licence. Level J of CTL programme as ongoing discount. (iGrafx government price level is Level E.)

Corporate
All current Corel products are available through CTL and it offers volume discount within five discount levels (price bands) to ensure you save. Entry level is 1 licence.

Corel Classroom Licence

New this year we are offering Primary schools the chance to purchase a Classroom Licence. Developed as a low cost option for teachers in schools that are not signed up to our CLL annual site Licence programme, the Classroom Licence is ideal for teachers who want to use Corel software for a specific teaching plan covering one or more classrooms/ICT labs and is priced to suit a smaller budget. The Classroom Licence programme is only available to Primary schools in the UK and Ireland.

The Classroom Licence is available on four of our education products;

• CorelDRAW Graphics Suite
• Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo
• Corel Painter
• Ulead VideoStudio

Classroom Licences are available to purchase in Licence Packs which allows a school to install a single product on to a total of16 computers (15 computers plus 1 extra for the teacher). If a school requires software for more computers they can purchase additional Licence Packs, with a maximum allowance of four Packs per product per school (a maximum of 64 computer installations per product per school).

If you are looking to install software on a larger scale or if you require other Corel products not included here, then you should consider the CLL site Licence or the CTL volume Licence. Note that Upgrade Protection is not available under the Classroom Licence programme - again if this is required, refer to CLL and CTL licensing.

Student Usage Rights

Corel is taking a NEW and completely UNIQUE approach to providing wider access to our range of education products, and this year we are delighted to launch our NEW Student Usage Rights Programme. If you are a University or Higher / Further Education College and you choose to sign up to either our CTL or CLL programmes, then you can also purchase the option to extend these Licences giving you the right to distribute one copy of each eligible product to your students for their own personal use, at no extra cost.

Student Usage Rights for CLL customers:

• When you purchase a Corel License for Learning (CLL), you can also purchase the option to roll out a Students Usage Rights Programme on all of the 3 core graphics products, as follows; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Painter, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.
  
• Once you have decided on Student Usage Rights for the 3 core products, you will then be eligible to opt for Student Usage Rights on the following add-on products under the CLL: Corel WordPerfect Office, Ulead VideoStudio, Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite, WinZip Pro.
  
• The only education product NOT eligible under this scheme is WinDVD.
  

Student Usage Rights for CTL customers:

• Our unique Student Usage Rights Programme option applies to Colleges of Higher / Further Education and Universities selecting our Corel Transactional volume Licence programme too! For example, a university which purchases Corel Designer Technical Suite for an engineering department can also purchase the rights to distribute the software to students at no extra cost to them! This is a huge saving as normally students are obliged to purchase their own copies of software which can often run into hundreds of pounds.
  
• You can apply Student Usage Rights to a CTL Licence on the following products; CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo, Corel Painter, Ulead VideoStudio, Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite, Ulead PhotoImpact and Corel WordPerfect Office.
  
• The only education products NOT eligible under this scheme are WinZip and WinDVD.
  The Students Usage Rights Programme not only offers incredible value to students, but facilitates a high degree of flexible working and learning. Students can develop their skills and complete coursework off-campus and out-of-hours. With Corel's unique Student Usage Rights programme Universities and Colleges can now offer the very best in software technology and provide unprecedented support to their students.

Freedom Graphics Subscription

Corporate and Government sector customers who require access to Corel's core professional graphics product range while significantly reducing their software acquisition costs. Reduce software acquisition and maintenance costs with the Freedom Graphics Subscription Licensing plan from Corel - three premium Corel products (CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI, Corel Painter IX.5) included with every licence allowing the customer to maximise use of their licence.

An annual plan requiring only one annual upfront subscription payment allowing for accurate and consistent software budgeting. No requirement to sign a contract - and requires no commitment to renew beyond the first year. Doesn't require you to purchase any additional maintenance/support contracts. The minimum entry point for the Corel Freedom Graphics Subscription Licence program is 100-users. Three fixed discount levels based on volume. Levels are:

• Level A 100-500 users
• Level B: 501-1,000 users
• Level C: 1,001-2,500 users.
