Many of our Public Sector customers have been contacting us recently as they have been receiving worrying correspondence relating to the proposed Microsoft price increase in July. Price increases at any time can seriously affect pre-agreed budgets and in the current climate this could of course have significant impact.
Here at Phoenix we have vast knowledge of the Public Sector marketplace and we have been working hard to comprehend as to how these changes will affect our clients. Looking at the potential changes, it is easy to understand as to why some have jumped to the conclusion that the Public Sector will be hit hard by the increase. It is our opinion, however, that this is not necessarily the case.
The increase itself appears to focus primarily on the Corporate marketplace and, as you may be aware, the new proposed Public Sector Agreement has not been finalised due to on-going Government negotiation. Needless to say, we will announce any news as soon as it is made available.
In the meantime, we are always on hand to talk about the changes, discuss the potential impact and outline ways to minimise any potential problems. Current Phoenix Customers - your Phoenix Account Manager will be in touch to discuss! If you are new to Phoenix, don’t let yourself be worried by speculation - call us on 0845 265 1265 and let us help you understand how these changes may affect you.
Today, Microsoft UK announced European-wide price increases on corporate licence products effective from 1st July 2012. The explanation for this is attributed to ‘sustained currency differences’ across the EU. The exact extent of any price changes in July will therefore be determined by the Sterling/Euro exchange rate.
We encourage you to discuss your circumstances with us, so that you can act in an informed manner. Please contact your Account Manager on 0845 265 1265 or email info@phoenixs.co.uk
