Trend Micro Software Licensing

Trend Micro licenses its products on a perpetual basis, and the licences provided are issued on a maximum users count.

Users can be either the amount of direct or indirect users protected by the product or number of employees and independent consultants who use a computer to perform work for your company, depending upon the Trend Micro product purchased.

New licences of both software and the software component of the appliances include 12 months of maintenance (Virus-Pattern Updates, Scan Engine Updates and Major-Upgrades). Thereafter, the Maintenance is annually renewable.

Customers receive a licence certificate, which states the Registration Key (RK) which is to be registered online via https://olr.trendmicro.com/registration to generate the Activation Code (AC).

Trend Micro Seat Ranges

SMB Branded Products

Trend Micro SMB Branded Products are available in the following seat ranges:

• 5 to 25 Seats: Classified as Single User and are available in multiples of 1 Seat
• 25 Seats+: Requirements above 25 Seats, are sold in multiples of 5 licences to a maximum of 250 users

Enterprise Products

Trend Micro Enterprise products are available in the following seat ranges:

• 26 - 50
• 51 - 100
• 101 - 250
• 251 - 500
• 501 - 750
• 751 - 1000
• 1000+

Note: Appliances

• Licences are based on "users" (The number of employees and independent consultants who use a computer to perform work for your company)
• Hardware Warranty covers unit replacement upon hardware failure
