Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite

Business Productivity Online Standard Suite (BPOS) and Deskless Worker Suite are now available to academic customers through the Campus and School Volume Licensing programme

BPOS is a group of enterprise products delivered as a subscription service, hosted by Microsoft and sold through Phoenix Software. It includes Exchange Online Standard, SharePoint Online Standard, Office Live Meeting Standard and Office Communicator Online. The Deskless Worker Suite is intended for users who spend 5-10% or less of their time on a PC and generally share a terminal.

How is the BPOS licensed in Academic?
BPOS is licensed on a per-user basis. Users covered by CALs with Software Assurance qualify for Step-Up USLs (detailed separately for CA and SA programmes). An enterprise-wide commitment for BPOS users in CASA is not available. As a result, customers can license only a subset of their users for BPOS.
