Benfield Motor Group chose to implement a VMware environment in order to meet their business continuity requirement for 2009.

Through the implementation of a High Availability storage array from NetApp, and the ability to extend this to a disaster recovery site, Benfield was able to deliver a DR strategy in a relatively short space of time.

Solutions at a Glance
An initial Capacity Planning exercise run by Phoenix Software’s consultants identified the servers to look at for server consolidation. 

A NetApp FAS2050 cluster was chosen along with :

SnapManager for Exchange (SME)
SME integrates with Microsoft Exchange to provide a consistent point-in-time copy of Exchange data built upon NetApp snapshot technology.

SnapManager for SQL (SMSQL)
Operates in a similar fashion but integrates with SQL to provide consistent point-in-time copies of data.

Single Mailbox Recovery (SMBR)
Allows you the ability to restore at a brick level within Exchange.  You can, therefore, restore individual emails and contacts on a per user basis.
