Building a Modern Workplace for Tomorrow – Part One

The modern workplace is evolving at lightning speed, with distributed teams, brand-new business models and complex security issues. The right digital tools can connect and support employees, wherever they are, to encourage productivity, engagement and collaboration. However, planning the move to a modern workplace can be a challenging task, but with a clear strategy in place everyone can work together to make that strategy a reality.

Selby District Council has a very clear vision which is to make the district a great place to do business, to enjoy life and to make a difference – all underpinned by a council that delivers great value. The focus will be on fixing the foundations – i.e. getting a robust IT estate in place – and delivering digital transformation that will empower citizens and council employees to reach their full potential. This will be a catalyst for innovation and change. This will be achieved by developing the necessary tools, policies and people within a culture and an environment that further enhances the commercial mind-set of Selby District Council.

Successful delivery of their digital strategy will support them in achieving this vision as they look to develop three key areas:

  • Digital foundations
  • Digital customer
  • Digital workforce

Watch our short video as we follow Selby District Council on their journey to a modern workplace with Microsoft solutions such as Windows 10, Teams and Office 365. We will be following them over the coming months as they share their experiences, challenges and ultimately the outcomes at the end of the project.

There are many partners out there, but Phoenix understand the Public Sector like no other partner does. We have nearly 30 years’ experience of working in partnership with organisations across government, education, charities, housing associations, healthcare and bluelight.

We believe that by using IT we can enable all UK Public Sector organisations to innovate and transform to deliver smart connected services to staff, citizens, patients, tenants and students. We do this by understanding the individual goals of each organisation that we work with to help them modernise their workplace by harnessing the power of cloud, data, AI, security and collaboration tools.
