End of technical support for Adobe Acrobat 2017

As of 6th June 2022, Adobe ceased support for Adobe Acrobat 2017 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017 and no longer provides technical support or security updates. Find out everything you need to know now.

Why has Adobe discontinued support for Acrobat 2017 and Acrobat Reader 2017?

According to the Adobe Support Lifecycle Policy, Adobe provides five years of product support, starting from the general availability date of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader. In line with this policy, support for Adobe Acrobat 2017 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 2017 ended on 6th June, 2022.

What does ‘end of support’ mean and what are the risks associated with owning an unsupported version of Adobe Acrobat?

This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version, including localised versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products.

What are my options to avoid losing support for Acrobat?

For those currently on perpetual Acrobat 2017 plans, we recommend moving to an Adobe Acrobat DC subscription in the Value Incentive Plan (VIP).

An Acrobat Pro DC subscription gives you much more value than the latest desktop software. Designed for today’s multidevice world, Acrobat DC lets users create, convert, edit, protect, sign, share, and track PDFs with smart, integrated tools across your computer, mobile device, and web browser. Plus, you’ll get new and updated features as they become available.

It also enables you to deploy apps and updates centrally, as well as allowing users to self-install. Assign, reassign, remove, and track licences with just a few clicks in the web-based Admin Console, and deliver secure remote access to Acrobat DC with virtualisation support for named user licensing.
