Sustainable Solution/ Service of the Year winner!

CRN Tech Impact Awards Winner Logo 2022We’re excited to announce that we’ve won Sustainable Solution/ Service of the Year at CRN Tech Impact Awards 2022 for our Sustainability App!

As a business, we embed environmental values into everything we do, whether that’s customer projects, partnerships, or internal ventures because we believe that everyone has a part to play in caring for our planet. Find out more about our award-wining app and our sustainability mission and commitment to making a difference.

We’re focused on driving a more sustainable business and industry, achieving Carbon Neutral status in March 2022, aiming to reduce our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 50% by 2026, and becoming Carbon Net Zero by 2040.

As part of our commitment, we are also working closely with our customers on their sustainability strategies and have developed our Sustainability App to support them, which has been recognised at this year’s CRN Tech Impact Awards as the Sustainable Solution/ Service of the Year. CRN comments on the judges’ decision: “The winner of this heavily entered category drew plaudits for its sustainability app, which the judges variously branded ‘clever’, ‘smart’, and ‘a great tool for local authorities’. They felt its decision to focus on its core public sector market, and on aligning its offering with Microsoft’s technology, was also a shrewd move…”

The Phoenix Sustainability App

Built in Microsoft Teams as a Power App, our Sustainability App is easy and accessible to use and aligns to both GOV.UK conversion rates and the Local Government Association (LGA) toolkit. Working with Microsoft we have also aligned it to its future Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability technology. The app achieved a Finalist Award in the recent Microsoft Partner Pledge Awards and is  praised by our customers as a flexible, simple tool to help organisations understand where to start.

“Phoenix’s Sustainability App is an excellent tool for local authorities that have declared a Climate Emergency. It is an accessible system which provides straightforward and real-time collation of adaptation and mitigation actions. The reports feature is great for communicating real-time progress on climate resilience to a variety of audiences, which in turn supports (financial and resource) decision making.” – Jo Gay, Head of Climate Change at Southend Borough Council

Our Sustainability App enables organisations to easily:

  • Record: brings together siloed data sources about carbon emissions, such as electricity, gas, water, waste, vehicle emissions, and eco systems, highlighting opportunities to convert usage to tCO2e and automatically align to scope 1, 2, and 3 categories

  • Report: real-time carbon emissions and targets. Integrated Power BI enables organisations to further analyse and gain a deeper understanding of their data with reports for the organisation as whole, different locations, or even for individuals to see their impact

  • Reduce: track reduction activities outlined in the Low Carbon Action Plan against key dates overlaid with carbon emission data to understand the impact of actions

“Building this tool not only shows a great commitment to driving sustainability internally, where the app was first trialled, but also shows a great commitment and passion to help our customers do the same. By using Phoenix’s, app customers can quickly connect to gas, electricity, water, and mileage data to get a view of their carbon emissions as a business, helping customers both Record and Report, with a vision to helping Reduce in the future.” Paul Henwood, Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect working on developing Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability technology
