Case study: ensuring protection from evolving security threats

St Catherine’s Hospice turned to Phoenix for advice on how best to improve the hospice’s security posture, after having worked with Phoenix for a number of years on its Microsoft licensing and managed IT support.

Utilising our Phoenix Protect – Active Response managed service, the hospice benefits from access to Phoenix’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) team, a group of security analysts who act as a form of triage for the hospice. Aiding in filtering through the alerts generated by the SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tool enables St Catherine’s Hospice to identify security threats and provide a more targeted response to attacks.

Case study: how modern technology has improved the lives of animals across the globe

Brooke is an internationally run animal charity, with communication between offices and their bases of operations being highly important. Without the means to collaborate and share data, the charity found it difficult to reach their goals in the most efficient way possible.

Brooke started their digital transformation journey with Phoenix, implementing several services tailored to the charity’s unique needs. These have included a full transformative Microsoft Cloud project which involved migration to Microsoft Azure, deployment of Microsoft 365, and exploration of AI and data services.

The primary applications of AI are automation and optimisation. Within the charities and not-for-profit sectors, AI serves as a valuable tool for data management, administrative duties, and supporting beneficiaries. The integration of AI means efficiency and collaboration, giving employees, volunteers, and customers the best experiences possible.

At a time where budgets are being reduced, and teams are being asked to do more with less resources, AI enables organisations to reduce this resource gap to prevent unnecessary compromises.

Phoenix is well positioned to support customers with all stages in their assessment of AI capabilities, from initial scoping and technical readiness to deployment and user adoption.

Phoenix is currently supporting customers across the sector at each stage in their journey towards an improved security posture, collaborating closely with our Governance, Risk, and Compliance Team to ensure that technology is joined up with the correct people and processes to create a robust security posture that aligns to an organisation’s preferred industry framework.

Charity and not-for-profit FAQs

Investment in technology to become a digital workplace helps charities increase productivity, reduce cost, and improve data security, with the result being delivering more vital services to their beneficiaries.

By having a mobile and secure workforce, charities can be agile and deliver vital support to their service users as demand fluctuates.

By investing in the right solutions, staff can easily communicate and collaborate with colleagues to access the required data when they need it and in a secure manner. Technology has also allowed service users to engage with crucial services from charities when, where, and how it works best for them.

For those organisations who may operate in remote areas, remote working capabilities allow them to expand their reach when seeking additional members of staff to join their teams; meaning that new staff no longer need to be physically located near a head office location to bring value to the charity.

IT can be a complex world, and many organisations find it difficult to know which solutions they need to get the results they want. To determine the best solutions for your organisation, start by understanding your current challenges and defining clear objectives. Research available options, considering factors like features, scalability, and cost.

Phoenix’s in-house team is strategically designed with dedicated resources who can support customers in areas including, cloud transformation, security, governance, risk, and compliance, adoption and change management, asset management and optimisation, and more.
