Everything you need to know about Microsoft’s new Agent 365 and Frontier Suite

Microsoft has publicly launched Agent 365, the control-plane for AI agents, and Microsoft 365 E7, a new top-tier enterprise subscription designed to place AI agents and advanced automation at the centre of modern work.

The announcement marks a clear shift in Microsoft’s enterprise strategy: AI is no longer an add-on, it’s foundational.

Microsoft Agent 365

The rapid rise of AI agents shows organisations are seeing real value. But when adoption outpaces governance, it can create blind spots, reduce ROI, and introduce genuine security risks. As agents become more capable and autonomous, trust becomes critical.

80% of the Fortune 500 are already using agents from Microsoft. The opportunity is clear – but without the right guardrails, scale can quickly become risk.

As a result, Microsoft Agent 365, available from 1 May 2026, has been designed to help organisations manage AI agents across the enterprise.

It will provide a central way for IT teams to discover, monitor, govern and manage AI agents operating within their environment, using the same infrastructure, applications and protections organisations already rely on to manage their workforce.

As organisations begin deploying more AI-powered automation, tools like Agent 365 will play an important role in maintaining oversight and control.

Introducing the Frontier Suite

Launching on the 1 May 2026, Microsoft 365 E7 bundles Microsoft 365 E5, Copilot for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra Suite, and the new Agent 365 governance platform into a single trusted solution.

E7 gives customers a single, unified platform that meets their needs and the ability to adopt a richer set of capabilities more cost-effectively.
