Discover the Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Duo

‘Better together’ is a term we often use to describe Surface devices and their flawless integration with Microsoft software and apps. Microsoft turned to hardware to create a device that enhances its software solutions and creates the best possible experience for their users. If your organisation uses Microsoft software and apps, then why not choose a device that has been designed to integrate with those programmes perfectly? The new Surface Laptop 4 is no exception.

In this blog, we’ll be looking at the New Surface Laptop 4. We’ll also be taking a look at the innovative Surface Duo device and how it can be used for your organisation.

Surface Laptop 4

Like all Surface devices, the Surface Laptop 4 is, first and foremost, optimised for Microsoft experiences. It retains the iconic design, details and materials that Surface devices are known for and users love. As you’re aware of the seamless relationship between Microsoft’s software and hardware, let’s get into the techy bits.

With their signature 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen displays in 13.5” or 15” models, users can choose from Alcantara or metal finishes in a variety of bold. Surface Laptop 4 offers a built-in HD front-facing camera with low-light capability and a studio microphone array, ensuring you’ll come through loud and clear as you connect with colleagues in meetings.

Whether through the vibrant touchscreen display, large trackpad with gesture support, or its industry-leading typing experience, Surface Laptops can adjust to your preferred workflow. Surface Laptop 4 offers a choice between either the 11th Gen Intel Core processors, or AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors with Radeon Graphics Microsoft Surface Edition (8 cores); in either case, you’ll find a smooth experience that powers modern, multitasking demands.

In more simpler terms, these features allow Surface users to:

  • Communicate perfectly in Teams and online meetings with the high-quality camera, microphone and speaker technology
  • Work securely across devices with Windows 10 and Microsoft 365
  • Embrace flexible working with lightweight portability and up to 19 hours of battery life
  • Work more efficiently with Windows Hello facial recognition sign-in and flawless Microsoft software integration
  • Choose how to interact with content, whether that be through utilising the touchscreen feature or using the large track pad

Surface Duo

We’re pleased to share that the Surface Duo device is now available to purchase in the UK. With Surface Duo, Microsoft set out to unlock new levels of mobile productivity and reduce the need to reach for a larger screen to complete quick productivity tasks. With enhanced Microsoft 365 apps, productivity can take place across two distinct screens, enabling true multi-tasking. Whether viewing your Outlook Mail and Calendar side-by-side or seeing your colleagues and the presentation simultaneously on Teams, the magic of Surface Duo is the intersection of hardware and software in the palm of your hand.

There is incredible potential in this new device category to push the boundaries of productivity and creativity on a mobile device. This product has unlocked new ways to get things done and was even recognised as one of the best inventions of 2020 by TIME magazine1.

Microsoft are continuing to improve the Surface Duo device with app enhancements, software and Android security updates and improvements to the Android platform at-large. Microsoft is the third-largest Android ISV in the world and they’re proud of what they’ve been able to deliver with this Surface device.

Surface Duo features:

  • Surface Duo has a revolutionary 360° hinge, so you can fold it however you want
  • With two screens, Surface Duo helps you get more done in better ways. Hold it like a book and have two apps open side-by-side with one on each screen
  • It’s a thin and light mobile device that folds and fits in your pocket, so you can always take it with you
  • Just open your Surface Duo to use the dual, high-resolution PixelSenseTM Fusion Displays that give you 8.1” of space to work on the go throughout your day
  • With Link to Windows built into Surface Duo, and the Your Phone app on your PC, you can access everything you need from either device

With such a dispersed and remote workforce at present there is understandably a large focus on the ability to provide remote working solutions across the public sector.

The way that we work has changed forever as we see more than 74% of organisations planning to permanently shift to a more remote way of working1, with 83% of employees stating that they would like to continue to work from home at least occasionally2.

However, as you look at systems and solutions that can make this happen, it’s important to make the right investments that benefit your employees and improves productivity whether they are sat at a desk in the office, at their home or out visiting patients, students, citizens or partners. Hardware that works seamlessly, can be remotely managed and enhances productivity and collaboration is crucial for the success of your organisation.

That’s why we’re partnering with Microsoft to host a number of Surface workshops so you can learn how Surface and Microsoft 365 can provide an integrated hardware and software experience, while addressing the many challenges organisations are currently facing.
